Tennis Academy Overview by Head Coach, Simon Bentley

The Tennis Academy at Shrewsbury this year has been packed with a variety of students from complete beginners through to National standard players. I believe this year has had the highest number of elite players in Discovery Summer’s history.

Training consisted of technical and tactical drills covering all the major shots, match practice and video analysis. At the end of every week a group tournament was held. The results are as follows;

Week 2:
Group 1 Winner-Alexandre Szturma
Group 2 Winner-Vartan Seferyan

Week 3:
Group 1 Winner-Anastasia Artamonova
Group 2 Winner-Fabian Osslund
Group 3 Winner-Roxane Diesing

Week 4:
Group 1 Winner- Anastasia Artamonova
Group 2 Winner-Marc Zieger

All of the players were very keen and showed great enthusiasm to develop their skills. This years academy has proven to be a worthwhile experience for both players and coaches.
Thank you to all involved!
