In the afternoon the students went on a walking tour in Shrewsbury - a medieval town in Shropshire with the largest river in Great Britain - the River Severn. The town is packed with timber-framed black and white buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways. Charles Darwin was born and educated in Shrewsbury and all around the students could find reminders of his association with the town.
