First day out!

Yesterday our students took part in their first excursion of the summer! The students were split into their colour groups and were given a walking tour of Shrewsbury by one of our Activity Leaders.

Shrewsbury is a historic town and our route took us through winding streets, along old bridges and up to Shrewsbury Castle. When we reached the town's old market square, the students were given an English language task that required them to explore Shrewsbury town centre in order to find the answers to various questions. Next, our students were given the opportunity to do some shopping across the town.

After our trip it was back to the school for dinner and our evening's colour war event...

Yesterday was Harry Potter night which saw our Blue and Yellow teams taking part in a number of tasks, such as potion making, a horcrux treasure hunt and broomstick making to earn points, whoever won the most would be declared the night's champions.

It was a close run contest, but the Blue team just managed to edge past the Yellows to bring the scores to 1-2.

Then, out of nowhere, a surprise challenge...

The teams were offered the chance to earn themselves an extra point if they could make enough noise to drown-out the opposing team.

Again, another close contest, but after much deliberation it was decided that the Blue team had got the better.

So, a strong night for the Blue team, who are now tied with the Yellows on two points each!

It's all to play for at tonight's event which sees the Blues and Yellows take each other on in a game of 50-50! Good luck everyone!
